Concepts
Disks and templates
An ordinary filesystem with a lifecycle independent of your VM.
Disk identity
A disk belongs to one organization and one home region. Its logical size is a capacity limit, not a guarantee of a fixed physical footprint. Source, node_modules, Python virtual environments and .git can live inside the same mounted directory.
Templates and forks
An immutable template seeds new disks. Copy-on-write clones share unchanged blocks within a storage pool; modifying one clone does not alter its template. A clone is a storage optimization. Server-side authorization supplies the tenant boundary.
Placement
Keep the active writer near its home storage region. Network latency affects cold reads and fsync. Moving a workspace requires flushing and fencing the old writer before admitting a new one. Multi-region migration is not yet a production feature.
